June 13 E-News
Sunday, June 15
Worship Service | 9:00 AM and 10:45 AM – Click HERE for livestream.
Imagine being in a group listening to Paul speak and he said, “Only true Jews will enter the Kingdom of Heaven!”
If you were a Gentile, a statement like this might make the Kingdom of Heaven seem impossible for you. If you were a conscientious Jew, you might wonder if Paul was implying that your religious standing was in question.
Listening carefully to Paul reveals that the gospel turned all conventional religious thinking on its head! Those who thought they would never enter are welcomed in to God’s family and given standing in His kingdom while those who were confident they would be welcomed with praise and honor are turned away.
The gospel doesn’t operate on human convention or religious expectation. The gospel is the surprising work of God that changes everything for us, in us, and about us. It shatters our little earthbound dreams while at the same time giving us joy and hope beyond our wildest dreams.
Never in a thousands lifetimes could someone like me hope to enter into the Kingdom of God. But at the cost of His life, Jesus made a way and opened the door.
Join us this Sunday as we trace Paul’s thoughts about what it means to be a true Jew and why it matters!
