The 20th century (1900-2000) is often seen as the bloodiest in human history. Over 15 major wars between nations led to around 200 million violent deaths during that time. Hostility among nations became almost more common than peace.
What happens between nations often mirrors what happens between individuals. Marriages break down, families split apart, and friendships crumble over the lack of true peace. Sadly, most of us have experienced the consequences of broken peace somewhere in our lives.
Men generally don’t find peace with each other because they first lack peace with God. The gospel Paul preached in Rome offers the solution to the brokenness, hostility, and warfare that occur on earth. Join us this Sunday as Pastor Sam continues our journey through Romans 5, where we discover the incredible truth that through Jesus Christ, we have peace with God!

This event will feature Marty Sweeney, Executive Director of North America for Matthias Media, an evangelical publishing ministry known for producing theologically rich and practical disciple-making resources such as The Trellis and the Vine and Two Ways to Live. With a deep commitment to equipping believers for Christ’s mission, Marty will help us consider how we can faithfully live out the call to make disciples.

Christine Chappell is a certified biblical counselor and host of the Hope + Help Podcast for the Institute for Biblical Counseling & Discipleship. She is the author of Midnight Mercies: Walking with God through Depression in Motherhood, as well as several mini-books, including Postpartum Depression: Hope for a Hard Season, and Help! I’ve Been Diagnosed with a Mental Disorder.
She currently serves as a council member for the Biblical Counseling Coalition, and is a regular speaker at women’s events and conferences. Christine lives in South Carolina with her husband and three children, and is a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Easley. Connect with her at christinemchappell.com

Volunteer Opportunities
The “ESL” (English as a Second Language) Program is an opportunity for individuals and families from all nations to grow in both English language skills and meaningful community. Rooted in the love of Christ, we offer beginner to advanced ESL classes that not only build confidence in communication but also foster friendship, faith, and belonging.
