PBC   -

Sunday, August 10

Worship Service | 9:00 AM and 10:45 AM – Click HERE for livestream.

God intends for us to do more than believe theological truth; He wants that truth to bring us deep joy.

Delighting in doctrine may seem foreign to our ear but it is evident that such joy sustained Paul in the hard work of gospel ministry. Abraham also knew the deep joy that believing God produced in his heart. And that joy found initial fulfillment when God called forth the life of a baby from a dead and barren womb. That joy deepened when God provided a ram to take the place of that son as he lay on an altar under the raised knife in his father, Abraham’s hand. And it finds ultimate joy when God raised His own son to life from the dead.

But how do these stories produce lasting joy and deep delight in us? After all, we are not in Abraham or Paul’s league. So how does their delight become our own? Join us this Sunday for the answer as we continue our journey through Romans!

Sept 8 | Women’s Precept Bible Study

Deepen your understanding of the Lord and grow alongside other women in faith as we study the Bible, book by book, beginning with Jonah and Galatians. Precept Bible studies are designed to teach people how to study the Bible at a deeper level, but in a simple way, using the inductive study method. The inductive method uses Scripture to interpret Scripture, because who better is there to explain the meaning of God’s words than God Himself? Class will run Mondays from Sept. 8 – Nov. 17, from 6-8:30 PM. Cost: $30 (for two books). Please register by August 23.

New Elective | Theology of Leadership

Most of us have primarily learned how to lead by watching how others do it. This is a great way to learn in many areas, but in the areas that the Bible addresses, this equates to “leaning on your own understanding.” Since leadership is all about influencing others and involves how we interact with others, it is a significant topic in Scripture. Leading God’s way gives Him glory, helps the organization succeed, and works to bring out the best in others. We are offering a Biblical Leadership Theology class to help you understand what the Scripture teaches about how you should lead. These practical principles apply equally to your home, workplace, and church. Class begins September 7. Click the image to register! If you have any questions, please contact Ken Bixby. Room 224 at 9 AM starting Sept. 7.

Sept 19-20 | Discipleship Mini-Conference

Explore Christ’s command for all believers to make disciples—and what that looks like in our everyday lives. This event will feature Marty Sweeney, Executive Director of North America for Matthias Media, an evangelical publishing ministry known for producing theologically rich and practical disciple-making resources such as The Trellis and the Vine and Two Ways to Live. With a deep commitment to equipping believers for Christ’s mission, Marty will help us consider how we can faithfully live out the call to make disciples. Click the image to register!
